Lenovo Y500 with a Sandisk 16GB SSD – ExpressCache Not Working

Posted on March 29, 2015 | Filed in PC Tips, Windows 8

If you are using a Lenovo Y500 or similar with a Sandisk 16GB SSD drive, and  if you find that the SSD drive is not working upon running the command:

eccmd.exe -info (as an Administrator using the DOS prompt).

Try re-installing ExpressCache but start with the oldest version that will work for your operating system instead of vice-versa.

For example ExpressCache 1.0.86 works fine with Windows 8.1 and a 16GB SSD.

The latest 2 versions were not working right with a Lenovo Y500 that I tested with. Errors included an “unregistered version” and “ExpressCache can not launch” message were seen with newer versions.

Below is what you should see via the command prompt if your SSD is working correctly.
